Is MC an HP authorized service center that does warranty work?

Before making an 80 mile round trip I want to confirm MC is an HP authorized service center that does warranty work. MC is listed on HP's site as an authorized service center. However, other companies were listed but turns out they don't do warranty work. Also on HP's site it says to contact the service center before visiting. Since this site's Chat function has been disabled, and I can't get through via phone (cue 'is full' - hangup), I am asking here hoping for a quick response.

Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community!  Our Chat should be operating, are you using an AdBlocker as that can block the chat window from showing up.  

We are an HP Authorized service and will work under the HP Warranty if the issue is covered by that warranty.

Thanks for responding in a timely manner and for the info about the Chat function for MC's site. The laptop powers on (keyboard lights up, fan runs) but the HD light doesn't come on and nothing on the screen. I am more concerned about having access to the data on the hard drive while the laptop is repaired. Can I bring it in, have the drive pulled and quick checked to see if it is working while I am there, then take the drive with me? I've had laptops do this before and it's normally the motherboard.
