Installation issues: Corsair H100i Capellix Elite AIO cooler with ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F MOBO
Building new computer for my son. Installed Corsair AIO cooler on the ROG STRIX B450 MOBO (AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT CPU), and connected the pump tach cable to the cpu fan header per instructions. Started computer, and everything blinked red and computer shut down. Repositioned pump tach cable to the AIO pump header, and everything started working normal.
Loaded Windows 10 Home and started to update software/drivers through the ASUS updater. Restarted machine and went back into blinking red/shutdown mode.
Removed AIO cooler and installed standard fan cooler, and system operating OK now. Want to get the AIO cooler working to set up overclocking.
Thoughts on how to troubleshoot? Currently looking through software and BIOS to identify if settings have been screwed with.
Thx,
Dave

Hello @illinidave
Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community!
Just to check, everything is working now with a normal fan cooler? What happens when you use the AIO in the CPU_fan header? -
System is working fine now with the standard AMD air cooler. I have not tried the AIO connected to the cpu-fan header since it failed the first time, but will try again later.
-
When I set up the AIO the first time, system blinked red and shut down. Don’t think pump was getting power. When I switched to the AIO_pump header, system worked ok until the software update/restart that I mentioned
-
Gotcha, do you have everything from the cooler plugged in? Mainly the SATA Power, the Pump Cable and the Mini-USB Cable?
-
Think we figured out the problem; we had the cooler power plugged into a SATA cable that was also being used for the 2TB drive. Works fine now. Finding out the fans kick into high gear when the vengeance RGB RAM gets turned to solid white color. Assuming I can correct that with fan profiles.
