He wants a semi high end pc but I don’t want to mortgage off the house. So this is what he picked I know the gpu is out of stock almost everywhere but will this build be a monster? And is the monitor good enough?

The biggest change I made was the CPU and storage. I don't feel that the performance of the 3600XT is enough to warrant the additional price. I'd recommend putting the additional budget saved with this change towards a different GPU. If you're able to wait, I'd say that the 3070 is very close in price to the 5700 XT you've selected and offers a significant performance boost to FPS. It's not needed, but something you should be aware of!

The monitor will go well with this build 1440p offers more pixels per inch and the refresh rate of 144hz is a sweet spot for performance and price! Great choice!
