Pre-order queue system?
Given the circumstances of limited availability items and Covid-19, is Microcenter doing anything to create a safer more organized way to handle the sales of in-demand items like the Nvidia RTX 3000 series GPUs, Ryzen 5000 CPUs etc? As of now, if someone wants one of these items, they are expected to constantly check the store in person. I understand that a lot of these items are getting delivered via drop shipments so you are unable to give restock date and times.
Why is there not a pre-order queue system like EVGA has put in place for the Nvidia RTX 3000 series cards? As the item comes in stock, you can notify someone via email, text, phone etc. They would then have a specified amount of time to pay and pick up this item in store, then it would move down the queue to the next person. This would create a safer environment for purchasing and would give people a fair chance at getting these items. As of now, unless you practically live in the store waiting for these items or live extremely close to the store, you have little to no chance of purchasing these parts. The generic response of
"To check our latest stock/availability, please visit www.microcenter.com" is a lazy way to handle it and in no way helps anyone.
I'm a big fan and advocate of Microcenter, but I believe the company can handle this situation a lot better than it has been. On a side note, thank you to all the retail employees dealing with the pandemic and the holiday season on top of that.

Hello @Rufus and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. You've expressed the same sentiment as thousands and thousands of other Microcenter customers have shared. Microcenter understands that having a "In-stock" notification system would be very beneficial to customers and limit the volume of high demand item inquiries to our Forums and Store Call Centers. The "In-Stock" system has been talked about but no approval yet for implementing this. We can share your post with the home office, but as of right now we don't have a time table for if or when this will be put in place. We understand your concern, but Leadership makes these decisions. A decision just has not been made yet.
