I can’t seem to figure out what’s going on. According to GPU Check, I should be getting around 158 FPS at 1440p with the graphics set to “Ultra,” but I’m only getting 80-90 FPS in quieter zones and around 50-60 FPS when the action picks up. I had initially set the framerate cap to 144 (since my monitor’s refresh rate is 144 Hz), but I removed the cap just to check, and there was no change. I applied a small overclock (+115 MHz on the core and +10 MHz on the memory), but that didn’t do anything.

I'm getting 150-160 FPS in menus and loading screens.

Here are my complete system specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
  • GPU: RTX 2070 Super, 8GB GDDR6
  • Mobo: B550 Tomahawk
  • SSD: 1TB NVMe Gen 3
  • HDD: 4TB 7200 RPM
  • Memory: 32GB DDR4 3600
  • Monitor: AOC 1440p 144 Hz FreeSync, G-Sync compatible

  • Destiny 2 is a notoriously difficult game to run unfortunately. Your frame rates are pretty accurate for 1440p and ultra settings. Just fiddling with the Anti-Aliasing. Turn that down a notch, and make sure V/G-Sync is off haha. Something else to maybe check out, have you enabled XMP on your RAM in the BIOS? That usually gives a few extra FPS. And you can also overclock that memory a bit farther if you want. Pretty solid overclock on that core though! Let me know if this helped!
