Memory Upgrade iMac

Hi I'm new here. I have an iMac 21.5" late 2013 model with 8 GB currently installed and would like to upgrade. Stopped by the store today and the associate said it was not upgradable. However, it's my understanding that it is the late 2015 that is not. Could he have been mistaken? I am running Adobe Premiere Pro and right now it's running painfully slow. I'm assuming upgrading to 16 GB or 32 GB will solve this problem? If it cannot be upgraded, what is my alternative other than buying a new computer?
