I can't remember last night's dinner

Not quite current per-se. But the singular best French fry experience I've ever had was at the McDonald's in Banff, Alberta, Canada in 1992. I'm not sure what made them so special, perhaps they were still using some sort of animal fat instead of vegetable oil (I always joke that it was moose grease) but the umami aspect was off the charts and I've never had anything so good since.
100% Shake Shack
Five Guys. Period. Fresh cut and crunchy. Can't go wrong.
Really? Do you ask yours well done? I feel like I've never had "crunchy" fries from Five Guys at least from Columbus. They're definitely solid though!
If they fill your entire bag with fries, aren't you like guaranteed to get some crunchy ones?
I had them again today. The outside is crunchy while maintaining a soft center... until I drench them in vinegar.
If you eat them at the store right away, the worst part of them being Drive-Thru only during covid is the steam in the box makes them soggy.
Checkers/ Rally's hands down, how can there be any other choice.......
I really liked the shoestring fries at Steak & Shake. There used to be one of them right across from the MC in Michigan. It's still there but it closed down years ago to what I suspect was mismanagement because that place got a lot of business. I miss going there before/after going shopping at MC with various friends. Logan's Roadhouse was a close second for me, but the pandemic killed that one off as well.
Chick-Fil-A fries are great!
+1 for Chik-Fil-A but don't sleep on Dairy Queen fries!
