Recently installed a Ryzen 9 3950x on my pc, and upon startup both the BIOS and Ryzen Master is showing that a Ryzen 7 3700x is installed using 8 cores. Task Manager is showing that the base speed of the CPU is 3.6 GHz when I'm pretty sure the base speed for the 3950x is 3.5ghz. I've reflashed BIOS to see if that helped with anything, but no luck. Would love some input on this, thanks!

Current set-up:
Mobo: Asus Tuf Gaming x570-plus
CPU?: Ryzen 9 3950x w/ Noctua NH-U12A Cooler
RAM - G.Skill Trident Z 32 GB (4x8GB) CL 14
GPU: Nvidia Quadro P4000

  • Hello @Torazo

Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community!  This is very weird as I was able to pull up your purchase history with your email and I do see a purchase of a 3950x.  I'm assuming on the box it says 3950x, have you checked the CPU Die to see if it says it or not?
