Reserving Zen 3?

Is there a reason we still can’t reserve these cpus? I was able to reserve another in-demand item, the Dark Hero motherboard fine, but I’m having no luck with Zen 3’s since I can’t get into a store until later in the day due to work. Scalper bots make it impossible to get one online. My local stores in the Chicago area seem like they only ever have stock in the early morning. I can’t even call the Chicago location without the phone system hanging up on me when I select the “other questions” option just to ask and see.

These cpus are going to sell regardless, so why can’t they be reserved? With COVID, I would think MC would do as much as they can to prevent people from standing in a long line.
