Making payments on repairs.

Long story short, I sent in my Macbook for repairs months ago. The screen was cracked and I had figured out if i sent it in at the moment in time, i would be able to afford it. Well since the Microcenter  at the time was the only open certified Apple repair center in central Ohio, it took way longer than expected, and in the 3 weeks it took, my financial situation changed drastically. I was told over text (yes i still have the messages) that i could make payments on it, and pick it up when it was fully paid, since applying for the CC wasn’t an option. When I went to the store to try this, i was told that i couldn’t do it. Has anyone tried this before? It’s been a while, and i’m afraid the system might get recycled soon. It’s only a bigger issue now, because i had to downgrade my icloud storage, so now i don’t have remote access to some of my files on the macbook, which happened to be important for a software project. Anyway, hopefully I someone here might have a solution on how to go about this. Thanks!
