Helping my son with a build

Hi folks,

I am a newbie playing catch up with my 12 year old son who is pretty excited about building his first computer. He's watched a ton of videos to learn about it, and I watched him install an i7 processor into a motherboard today. This is what he has so far:

• Cooler Master - MasterBox ATX Mid-Tower Case with ARGB Fans and Controller - Black
• Intel Core i7-9700K Coffee Lake 3.6GHz Eight-Core LGA 1151 Boxed Processor
• MSI Z390-A Pro Intel LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard

We are working on getting the rest of the components now. We were in store yesterday and got the suggestions below. But now I can't find the graphics card they recommended.

Any thoughts you have are very welcome.

• Nvidia 1660 graphics card for $219 (what could this be?)
• G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F4-3200C16D-16GVKB - Black
• PowerSpec 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze ATX Semi-Modular Power Supply
• Inland Premium 512GB SSD 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive

Do you agree that all this is a pretty good entry level setup for first PC build? He'll use it for minecraft, rocket league, rainbow 6 mainly.

This is good, but you should upgrade to a 3060/6700(If that launches) when they are in stock.

Hey guys I need a little help, I have a MSI Z270 SLI plus motherboard and I want to know if the 

Samsung 970 EVO+ 1TB SSD V-NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe 3.0, can work in my motherboard? I have a i7 7700 on it!

Hello @ajboyd! Yes, the MSI z270 SLI Plus does have an M.2 Slot. Meaning it would be compatible with the Samsung drive you mentioned!

All looks good to me. I do think the CPU is overspec'd for the system, though it gives you some head room to multitask and for a future GPU upgrade!
