Is the Playstation 2 old enough to be a retro console?

For some of us, this is going to be a hard question. But the Playstation 2 released nearly 21 years ago. It's legally an adult. Is that old enough to be considered retro?

And, before you answer, please consider my feelings and say no.

In honesty, and as much as I hate to admit it, yeah, the PS2 is probably retro. When you have people raised on the Wii entering adulthood, the previous generation is officially retro.

In the automotive world, classic cars are 20+ years old. Antiques start at 40 or 45 years old. So the PS2 is a classic, but not an antique yet at least.

I agree with @AndrewHorton, It's a classic all the way! I still have mine hooked up to my TV😂 SSX3 anyone??

Since it's the first console I ever really starting playing on - I would totally consider it retro. I miss those days...😞

I hate to think about it this way, but probably yes it is considered retro now.

I don't know.  I don't FEEL like it's a retro console.  I hear retro, and I think of SNES and other old systems like that.  I will agree that the PS2 is old, but no where near what I think of when I hear "Retro Console".  I don't even think of the PS1 has retro haha.  I do think it's definitely a perspective thing, and i'm sure if you ask any 14 year old kid, they would easily say the PS2 is Retro.

My first console was the ATARI 7800, but then all my friends got the new NES that had come out, so I had to get one too if I was going to take advantage of cartridge sharing with friends.  I later on found an old ATARI 2600 at Goodwill and fixed it up.  The only other consoles I've had since was the Playstation 1 after first seeing Final Fantasy 7 at a friends house.  It was revolutionary.  And then the Xbox 360 for GTA 4, because the PC release had been delayed awhile.
