I think Armageddon is more realistic, both in story of people's lives and special effects.  There were moments when I laughed from the interesting characters, there were moments where I was in awe of space (and working on an asteroid), there were moment I (almost) cried.  Hurray for humanity!

I like the "science" they pulled with the using the gravity to catapult them to match the speed of the comet.  I did enjoy Armageddon more and yes, you'll always get that comedy aspect if Steve Buscemi is around lol

@Err0h Is this a classic movie that everybody should watch or should have seen already? I've heard of it many times but never have gotten around to watching.

I've seen them both, but appreciated Deep Impact much more. Granted I can't stand looking at Ben Affleck, so I may be biased.
