Parts for Audio Production

I'm trying to build a computer for audio production and I don't know where to start. I need help choosing parts that I actually need and what I can save money on.

I run mainly Fl Studio and Pro Tools. Multi track sessions with heavy use of Izotope plugins amongst other plugins. Probably have a 2 monitor setup, but maybe just 1 (not sure if that's relevant).

Will NOT be used for gaming! It's possible I do some video editing and/or graphic design but nothing over the top. I assume that since I'm not gaming, I should be able to save $ on GPU.

Ideally I would like to get the best performance for my needs under $2000. Is that doable? Who knows? Not me. Maybe you? Step right up and help a brother out.

Hello @EmBee thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. Two thousand (2,000) should very well suffice for a good audio production system. The main thing to look at is your CPU, RAM and graphic card. You'll need at least 16gb of RAM, later upgrade to 32gb if can. Below is a link that gives you and idea of the parts you need to start off with. I'd recommend to go with a AMD build meaning look to use a AMD cpu like the Ryzen 5 3400 with an AMD motherboard.
