Questions about the Replacement Protection Plan

Hi, I have been having some problems with my rtx 3080 which I bought last month. At certain stock boost clock frequencies my gpu crashes and restarts my pc. The site states that If a replacement is needed, you'll be provided with a Gift Card that you can use at the store, and one of the options you can use it for is to upgrade to a different model. The only problem I see is that the particular model I want will definitely not be on hand for long as these cards are sold out very quickly after the store opens, so how does that work? does the store call me when one is in stock and reserve it for you to come pick it up? Cause I do not want to wait in line multiple times again just to get the specific card I want which I pretty much already paid for. And just for clarification I also have a 2 year warranty on this card.
