Programs won't open after windows 10 update

I updated windows 10 today and after the update, most of the programs on my computer won't open. I tried uninstalling the update and reinstalling it. Neither of those fixed the problem. At this point, I have found nothing online that seems like it might help. I'm hesitant to start fresh with a clean copy of windows but I don't know.

I'd recommend trying to roll back your Windows 10 update.

1. Open the Windows 10 Settings Menu by clicking the gear icon in the Windows Start menu, or by pressing the “Windows+I” keys.
2. Click “Update & security”
3. Click the “Recovery” tab on the sidebar.
4. Under “Go back to the previous version of Windows 10,” click “Get started.”
