So I've updated the driver from the powerspec site, but that is a very old nvidia driver. I'm starting to run into problems where I can't run games because the Nvidia driver is not up to date...
Does anyone know a via way to update the driver? If I download the Nvidia game ready driver, the computer will not boot and I have to roll back to my current driver.
Here's a link to the drivers page for the 1510. http://www.powerspec.com/support/support_archive.phtml?selection=1510
Also, you should be able to use the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to automatically find and install the latest drivers for your device.
The PowerSpec 1510 does have Intel® HD Graphics 630 / NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1070 Hybrid Graphics
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
This is an interesting issue. The PowerSpec 1510 can be configured to operate in two modes: Discrete and MS Hybrid. Can you confirm which mode your GPU is configured to operate in? I would recommend updating the driver in Discrete mode first to see if that takes, however if that fails, it may be worth trying with MSHybrid enabled as that will allow the Intel adapter to provide video while the Nvidia GPU is updated.
You shouldn't be seeing this issue at all though. My PowerSpec 1510 is at home and I haven't tried the latest Game Ready Driver, but when I get home I'll give it a shot and let you know how it goes. In the meantime, let me know how changing the GPU mode works for you.
