Misleading sale

A few days ago I bought an Acer KG271U monitor. The sign in the store said that it was 1440p and 144hz. I bought this expecting it to have 144hz. A few days later, I set it up at home, and find out that it only runs at 75hz. The Acer website says the same. This is absolutely ridiculous, as the refresh rate was a major reason as to why I bought the monitor. I am also out of state and over 12 hours away from a micro center. Any ideas or recommendations for what I should do, or who I should contact?

Greetings. I am sorry for any confusion with this monitor you may be having. Are you using a DisplayPort cable? You would need to be using that to get 144Hz.

On our website, under the Specs tab it lists the following "Refresh Rate Details - 144 Hz using DisplayPort" https://www.microcenter.com/product/503505/acer-kg271u-27-wqhd-144hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-led-gaming-monitor

Looking at the Acer website, it is listed at 144Hz. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.HX1AA.A07
