Sony PS4 HDD used as a boot drive?

The PS4 comes with a 500gb drive and I know that you need to format it to use with your PC, and I was wondering if I could use it as a boot drive, to at least power my pc up. I have never used a pc without an OS, so what I'm asking is can I use this drive and delete everything off of it while it is in my pc, then load Windows?

Hello @MoriIsDumb and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. If you remove the PS4 HDD and put into your pc, you won't be able to boot from the PS4 HDD. Your pc needs to have an existing C drive with windows on it. Your PS4 HDD will be the 2ndary drive in your pc. Boot normally to your PC windows with PS4 HDD as the 2ndary drive, and delete/or clean the PS4 drive through diskpart. See the diskpart instructions link below.

Once you have cleaned/deleted the PS4 HDD, if you want windows to go that drive, you'll will need to install a license copy of windows on the PS4 HDD. You'll need a windows 10 install disk or USB.
