Corsair Cooler RGB Blinks
Tech Support
My custom build from Mayfield store is several months old. Lately I noticed the RGB on the iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT Liquid CPU Cooler goes out sometimes for a couple seconds,. The problem is intermittent and haven't noticed it in gaming, When I reboot it works ok for some time then will act up. I think it is just the RBG and not the pump and fans but I'm not sure. Firmware is up to date and latest ICUE software. What might the problem be.
Thank you
Charles Anthony

Hello @Chas and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. Have you uninstalled the ICUE software and reinstalled it? If not try that as a troubleshooting step.
What motherboard do you have as well?
-
I did a reinstall awhile back, not since problem though. I could try doing that, it is all updated though, software and frimware. Motherboard is MSI Z490
I noticed an windows Intel update recently. I hope the pump isn't stopping too. ugh
-
@Chas Okay try the uninstall and reinstall. Which MSI z490 is it, Z490 A pro, Plus, etc.?
Is this a custom build or a Powerspec? If its a Powerspec, which model (ex., B250, G480, etc.)?
-
Custom MPG Z490 Gaming Plus
-
@Chas just curious, have you updated your z490 chipset drivers or Bios since you purchased the board?
When did you purchase the board?
-
@Chas Just curious on your motherboard as to why I asked about the Chipset. Let us know what happens with the software reinstall.
-
Thats what I said above. Chipset is updated, once by me and most recently by Windows (INTEL - System - 10.1.31.2). I dont mess with BIOS.
Purch. date 06-22-20
-
@Chas Okay. Finish the uninstall and reinstall of the software and do a ICUE update after it reinstalls. Then shut down computer and unplug the USB connection for the cooler, leave unplugged for 20 seconds, then reconnect.
Reboot system and monitor your system to see if the random intermittently RGB Light issue continues.
-
That's easy enough to try. I'm afraid to mess with BIOS. I do see there is an update 7C75 A6 Hope I don't need to mess with it. I can do it through Dragon Center or site but rather not.
-
@Chas yeah no need to mess with the Bios at this point. It seems to be more of an issue with the ICUE software.
-
Ok thanks I'll do reinstall and unplug usb like you said and give it a day or so, worth a shot. I do have a warranty but trying to do it the easy way.
Thank you
-
@Chas no problem. Let us know what happens. It may be me or another MC forum Admin that replies.

ICUE has a new program that just came out. 4.9.350 older version was v3.38.61 I guess I'll try the new and improved 4.9.

So far updated to ICUE4 and reset usb to pump has it running good. I also updated BIOS today, which worked out ok. whew
