I'm getting mixed information from google searches and the MSI website. I would like to add an additional storage device to my G436, and would prefer m.2 simply for the ease of install and less cables to run.
Is adding a second one possible in the M2_2 slot? Obviously, there is a slot there so it must be possible, but I don't know if it will run at its maximum speed, or at all. Some results say it will not be supported by the CPU, others say it will. I wanted to get a WD Sn550 m.2 drive if possible, so an answer from people familiar with this particular motherboard would be awesome.
Greetings. You can add another drive to the M2_2 slot. The only thing to note is that SATA5 & SATA6 will be unavailable (disabled) when installing M.2 SATA/PCIe SSD in the M2_2 slot.
Thanks. I only plan on ever using one of those sata ports if needed in the future. Ordering my M.2 now thanks!
