Heya, so I have a ASuS Strix x570-e, G.Skill Trident Z 32gb 3600 DDR4 CL19 RAM, and a Ryzen 5 5600x.
I wanted clarify what I need as far as a bios flash goes, and which parts needed the flash and why. Any feedback is helpful, thanks!
Hello @Smellybandaid
These parts are all compatible and will work just fine.
When it comes to the BIOS versions of the motherboard, most should be 5th gen Ryzen Ready by now, however you will want to check the box to make sure. It should have a "Ryzen 5000 Ready" label somewhere on it.
The reason the motherboard needs a BIOS update is because the X570 motherboards were already being sold when AMD released 5th gen Ryzen CPUs. So any X570 board that was already manufactured prior to this would need a BIOS update.
If you do not see this then our technicians in-store can assist you. We can update the BIOS for you at the service desk for 29.99.
Alrighty, sounds great. Also, if I'm purchasing the 250$ tier build, (with my own parts), is the BIOS update free, or included?
That should be part of it as they would be installing Windows to your PC on that tier. https://www.microcenter.com/product/607209/custom-water-cooled-pc-building-service-tier-3
