trying to connect new desktop to tv

@krotos341 Hello and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. Are you using an HDMI cable to connect desktop to your TV?
Assuming your desktop has a= graphic card, you want to connect the desktop HDMI end to the HDMI port on the card that is going left to right. Not the up and down HDMI port.
