We installed a Amcrest AMDV10818-8B-B with two analog cameras and one IP camera(IP5M-B1186E) on the same LAN as the DVR.
The camera has been working fine till it started recording very short clips that are not playable. It did this for about two days then started working fine again after we power cycled it. Any ideas what needs done to resolve this?
That was my thought as well. Unfortunately the camera was not purchased from Micro Center.
I see, unfortunately we do not do any sort of in-store repairs/troubleshooting on DVRs/cameras. You may want to look into this with Amcrest to see if there is any sort of warranty available or see if the issues persist with another camera.
Greetings. Is this regarding the IP camera or the analog camera? Are you looking to do continuous recording?
You can also check with Amcrest tech support directly for possible solutions: https://amcrest.com/contact/
This is regarding the ip camera that is already set to continuous recording. I checked with Amcrest support and was not satisfied with the support.
What sort of troubleshooting did they try? Have you looked into resetting the camera or re-setting your recording settings / schedule to see if that makes any change?
They had us reset the camera. The camera is set to always record in the DVR settings. The camera works fine for about a week or two then the DVR starts to record unplayable mp4 files that are only a couple kb in size. If we power cycle the camera it resumes normal recording. The other two analog cameras continue to record the whole time it IP camera is having issues.
It sounds like it could be an issue with the camera. Is this a recent purchase from Micro Center?
