Hello! Apologies in advance if I'm not posting this in the correct area. I'm looking for a docking station to which I can attached two monitors. One monitor connects via HDMI and the other via VGA, but I do have a VGA to HDMI adapter as well as an HDMI to USB adapter. The main problem I'm running into is that I would also like the docking station to charge my laptop, and the ones I've found only seem to do so via USB-C. My laptop is a bit old (Lenovo Ideapad 510S) and does not have a USB-C port. It charges via a DC power port. Is there anything out there that will fit the bill? Or (and I think the answer is no), is there a USB-C to something adapter that will allow the docking stations I've found to connect to and charge my laptop?
Greetings, after researching your model, you would be able to get a dual-video docking station but it wouldn't be able to charge your system. There wouldn't be a way to configure that with a docking station for your PC unfortunately.
Something like https://www.microcenter.com/product/416056/kensington-superspeed-usb-30-docking-station-with-dual-dvi-hdmi-vga-video?ob=1 would plug in via regular USB, has HDMI and VGA available.
Hello,
Unfortunately there isn't a way to make a DC power connection on a laptop charge via USB-C.
This is my go to docking station: https://www.microcenter.com/product/431489/iogear-usb-30-universal-docking-station
This dock also includes a DVI to VGA adapter so it'll work with your VGA monitor without an issue.
