I have Windows 11 on a thumb drive by using the Windows11 Media Creation too.
Can that be used to install fresh on a new Microcenter built pc? And then activate Windows from my Windows 10 key once I get the machine home?
Greetings, yes, you can do that.
As for activation, it will still vary as described to you earlier in another discussion thread. If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 license (as in, you had a Windows key / specific Windows 7 Pro packaging), it should be transferable to a new computer / motherboard.
If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled (such as a pre-built desktop), it is not transferable to a new computer or motherboard.
More information on this can be found here: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/transfer-windows-10-license-new-pc/
I have my Windows 7 Ultimate install disc.
Might still end up buying a Windows 10 Pro install disc to be more current.
Just really need the activation code from either one.
