Hello again,
Around 4-5 months ago my cousin and I wanted to know how I could change the LED lights on my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. After searching for like 5 minutes we found out on the NVIDIA website that EVGA has a steam app that allows you to check temperatures and play around with the LED lights. And recently, I found a tab on the app that says "Resizable Bar" and it shows me a "Status Checklist" of each main component of my pc. Each part showed a check... besides the motherboard. My mother board is the ASRock X570 Pro 4 and I didn't know the brand but I don't really care about that part. But I wanted to know why that happens or if I should bring it in or not. Here is a screenshot of the app on steam.
You can check if Resizable Bar is enabled directly in NVIDIA Control Panel, that is the most reliable place to check on this feature of your graphics card. Here is information Resizable Bar from NVIDIA directly: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5165/~/nvidia-resizable-bar-firmware-update-tool
I just checked under "System Information" at the bottom right corner and it said that Resizable Bar is not enabled. What do I do from here?
You'll want to ensure that it's enabled in the BIOS as well. Here is a quick guide on how to check with an ASRock board: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/smart-access-memory
Enter the System BIOS by press <DEL> or <F12> during the system startup.
Navigate to the Advanced Settings or Advanced menu.
Enable “Above 4G Decoding” and “Re-Size BAR Support“.
Save the changes and restart the computer.
If this option is missing from your motherboard settings, you'll need to update the BIOS as it is possible that your BIOS may be from a date before resizable bar was supported.
It's also important to remember that resizable bar isn't a guaranteed performance boost in all titles as some may show a slight performance regression when enabled. You'll want to test with and without for the games you play in order to determine if this setting is worth keeping on.
My pleasure! Enjoy your system and let us know if you need any additional assistance.
I just checked on the ASRock website and It shows that my version of bios is from April of last year. I am trying to update the bios now but I am afraid if I try I will not succeed because I honestly have no idea what i am doing. So should I just bring it in one day and ask if they can do it for me or just enable my resizable bar?
It looks like this option was added in the February 2021 BIOS as shown at
Here is information on how to update the BIOS from ASRock: https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS10
You can also bring your PC in for assistance to your local Micro Center store for this as well, no appointment needed.
