Open Box

I am looking to buy a new motherboard and I'm seeing some Open Box options. Just wondering what exactly should I be expecting from Open Box should I decide to purchase it that way. Is it simply that the box was opened and so the price is now dropped? Do I need to potentially be worried with part quality or something missing? Potentially someone already having logged the model/serial number for something or other?

Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community! I have moved this thread to a better suited category!
In regards to Open Box, it essentially means the item has left the box and gone back in. It could be a floor sample, used in a previous build, a return from a previous customer or any misc. reason for a manager to open the box and check it. It has the same 15 day return period as a new item so if you do find something unusual with the motherboard, I recommend bringing it back and we can get that returned/exchanged. -
@TSPhillipT thank you for the quick response. much appreciated. So it could literally just be that a staff member needed to open it for whatever reason and now it is listed as an Open Box markdown?

It could also be a return as well, I highly recommend asking the sales consultants in store and they can inform you how that open box came to be open box. -
