I just built a pc for my first time and whenever I’m playing a game my screen goes black and my gpu fans go to 100% (this is random too) so I applied more thermal paste but it still has this problem any ideas of what’s going on? Not sure if you need all of this but my pc parts are cpu -AMD ryzen 5 3600, mother board - B550 Aorus Pro Ac, psu - powerspec 650w, gpu -Asus gtx 1660 super, ram - 2 G-skill trident z neo 16gb, memory - crucial p2 1 terabyte.

Hello @Me123
Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community!
I see you are having issues with your game screen going to black and your fans on your GPU kicking to full rev. Sounds like your GPU is crashing and kicks it's fan to high gear.
Just to check a few things, is this happening to all games? Or is it certain games? Have you updated the drivers for your 1660 Super through Nvidia? -
It’s mainly just Microsoft flight sim I’ll check and see if the drivers are all updated
-
I installed the latest update through NVIDIA but it didn’t fix it.
-
If you're still having issues, please try a clean install of your drivers, here is how to do that:
https://community.microcenter.com/kb/articles/133-how-to-clean-install-video-card-drivers-in-windows-10
Once completed, test it out again and see if that helps. -
I followed all the steps but it is still having a problem
-
I was wondering if my psu isn’t strong enough for my build could that be the problem?
-
just chiming in @Me123, you said you have a gigabyte b550 aorus. When did you get this motherboard? Also turn on the pc and once you are at the desktop press the (Microsoft key + R) on your keyboard to open run box. Type MSINFO32 and hit Enter. Send us the screen shot of your System Summary page.
You may need to update your motherboard chipset and drivers. There's no guarantee this will fix it. It could be a hardware issue with your board or your 1660. The power supply wattage is fine, no worries about the power supply. Were the parts purchased from Microcenter? -
All my parts were bought at Microcenter
-
And I bought them just before 2020 ended
-
@Me123 we're going to troubleshoot this through our ticketing system via email and no longer the Community forum. Be on the look out for an email shortly. Looks like its worth updating your chipset and bios to see if that fixies it. Look out for the email.

Hey @MMComputing, I believe that Me123 decided to take their computer to the store for our technicians to run diagnostics.
Are you having the exact same issues as mentioned above?
Are there any specific times when you're having the computer go to a black screen with 100% fans.
