cooler covers first RAM slot

I installed a cooler master hyper 212 black edition on a ASUS prime z490-a mother board and the fan covers the first RAM slot. Will the PC still work if I use two other slot for ram and leave the first one empty.

    Yes, the second slot (A2) and 4th slot (B2) are the default memory slots for this motherboard. We'd recommend using them instead of the 1st (A1) slot.

    Greetings @Laur1, this primarily depends on the motherboard, many manufactures recommend using alternating slots when using more than one stick of memory, Slot 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 are examples. Does the cooler still fit in place when you install the memory first? as long as you have good airflow there are not likely to be any issues with the cooler covering the memory.

    Hi! The cooler does not fit in place when memory is in the first slot. It looks like the technical guide states I can use slots 2 and 4.
