Lately I've been having this problem where my mouse cursor in windows and game feel floaty and off. For example, in game it feels like my aim is trying to catch up to my mouse. I a little delay, but its still affects me and my motivation to play games. the thing is that the delay is only in the mouse, not the keyboard.

I've tried things like:

changing mice, changing dp cables( tried using a 1.4 dp on a 144 to see if it would help. Currently using the 1.4 cable to.) redownload nvidia drivers, enhanced precision is off(always turn it off), mark c didn't really feel different

Can someone help?

EDIT: it also feels, in game, like my aim is trying to catch up to my mouse

Do you only have this issue when gaming? is there a noticeable lag when you use your mouse on just the desktop? Are you using any software to make macros for your mouse?

You mentioned that you're using different mice, have you tried plugging them into different USB ports?

Could you share your full system specs?

Also, what monitor are you using?

I'd recommend you open Win + X menu by pressing Windows Key + X. Now select Device Manager from the list.

When Device Manager opens, locate your mouse driver and double click it.

Go to the Driver tab and click on the roll back driver button if available or uninstall the driver. You can then unplug the device and plug in the device. This should reset the mouse, and then it should return to normal. I'd also recommend restarting your computer.

Let us know if this solves the issue for you.

Is this lag only noticeable in games? Every game, or certain games? Are the games running at 144Hz? Do you have multiple monitors running at different refresh rates? Have you tested with and without FreeSync/GSync enabled? Is VSync off?

    Sorry for the delay!

I've seen some posts that claim that NVIDIA High Definition Audio and other audio drivers can sometimes cause these issues. If you’re using an NVIDIA card you can try the following steps:

    1. Uninstall the GeForce Experience app.
    2. After that go to Device Manager and locate NVIDIA High Definition Audio.
    3. Right-click it and choose Disable.

Sometimes mouse lag problems can be related to its frequency. This issue usually affects wireless mice, and if your mouse is lagging, you might be able to solve the problem by adjusting its frequency.

To do that, open your mouse configuration software and change its frequency from 500 to 250Hz. After doing that, your mouse will start working normally.

Let us know if these solve the issue for that.

You can reinstall it, but if Geforce Experience is causing this, it's likely the overlay. Disable the overlay in the settings.

I'm afraid I'm not sure of any other suggestions here. I'd recommend bringing it into our service department. We'll be able to get a hands-on view of this and run diagnostics on the device! Please bring the desktop and your power cord.

Diagnostics costs $39.99 and more information can be found here.
