Hello @ByrdcraftDesign. Are you wanting to keep the PC in the same room as the CNC machine?

Separate room entirely. PC in Family Room and everything else monitor, keyboard, mouse, a couple of USB ports etc in garage/shop with CNC

It's straight through the wall. A hole was already there for at least 5 old school coax cables

@ByrdcraftDesign so what kind of setup are you trying to do? In the garage are you just wanting the carving machine and PC monitor along with keyboard/mouse only and keep the tower inside the house?

Yes I want to keep the tower in the house away from the sawdust, but for safety reasons control it from the garage, next to the CNC machine

@ByrdcraftDesign that could work by just funneling Monitor, keyboard/mouse connection cables through he old coax cable hole. You could also look at wireless keyboard/mouse, but the PC tower will need to be at least 30 feet away from the mouse and keyboard. You wouldn't have worry about wiring for the keyboard/mouse with that option.
One other thought to this setup is your keyboard/mouse and monitor would be susceptible to saw dust. Long as you wipe off the keyboard/mouse and monitor after every sawing session, they should be fine long term.

One of my friends is wondering if I could use some sort of usb-c docking station thing. My motherboard is x570 Aorus Elite WiFi Which supports usb-c 3.2 Gen 2 and my case is a Lian Li Lancool II-X with the USB-C port accessory installed

@ByrdcraftDesign where will the docking station be, in the CNC machine room?
If so, I don't see the benefits of a docking station over just running the wiring or monitor wire (if go with wireless keyboad/mouse) through the coax cable hole. You'll still have to run wiring through for the docking station and have an extra purchase expense for the docking station.

What do you think about a panel with holes punched out for the various plugs mounted. Like USB A m-f receptacle with mounting brackets

@ByrdcraftDesign can you send us a picture of the hole? I think I know where you're trying to go. You must be wanting to make the hole look more cosmetically semi-professional instead of just having a hole in the wall. Am I HOT or cold?

I have not even started to mess with the hole. the idea of mounting the ports to a panel mounted onto the workbench is entirely so that there isn't a lot of movement if plugging and unplugging things happen. I would like to prevent wear and tear on the actual cords so that I don't have to remove the cords from the wall.
