HP laptop keyboard disabled
Not sure what triggers this, but the keyboard of my HP laptop (just recently out of warranty) gets disabled. It can be fixed by rebooting, but that is a hassle. Any suggestions?

Try testing the keyboard using HP diagnostics. It's the first option on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03738933#:~:text=accept%20the%20changes.-,Restart%20the%20computer.,for%20and%20open%20Device%20Manager.&text=Remove%20all%20devices%20in%20the,keyboard%20should%20now%20work%20correctly.
Follow the prompts for "Test the Keyboard" listed here.

Greetings. What specific model of HP laptop is this for?

Thanks for your response. The laptop model is HP Laptop 15-ef1xxx.

Thank you! Try this:
1. Right click on the start button, typically found at the lower left, and pick Device Manager.
2. Expand the arrow next to "Keyboards"
3. Right click on any options here, and select Uninstall.
4. Once uninstalled, restart your PC and it will automatically reinstall any uninstalled items.

Thanks. This works as does simply rebooting the computer. However, the fix is not permanent (not sure what triggers the disabling of the keyboard) and I will need to use these measures repeatedly unless a permanent fix is found.

"Test the Keyboard" did not help. However, I read somewhere that if you reset the language in Windows 10 (set it to another language besides English, then reset it to English) this will work. I tried it and IT WORKS!
