Was this issue ever fixed? I am also having this problem with the motherboard. WiFi works fine but it won't recognise an ethernet cable?

Hello, have you run through the options for troubleshooting described in this thread?

Yes we have reset the TCP/IP stack and also done the winsock thing. We have uninstalled the family controller under device manager. WiFi works fine but still no Ethernet recognition? When we diagnose the connection using windows it comes up as , Ethwrnet doesn't have a valid IP config and an ethernet cable is not properly plugged in or might be broken. We have tested the ethernet cable in the laptop and it works fine. It's fairly new.

Solved it! The ethernet cable was a cat 7, when we swapped it for a cat 5e Ethernet cable from the Xbox it works fine?! Don't really understand why?

We also had an adaptor for the laptop which is ethernet to usbC. Using this to plug the cat7 lead into the motherboard also means the cable works. Maybe something to do with data speeds as the adaptor slows it down a bit??

Can you try another Ethernet cable (besides the cat5) on the desktop? That would help give a better idea of what's going on.
