Lian Li 205 Mesh Front Panel Only?
Hello there,
I recently got the PowerSpec G436 and although I enjoy the case it came in (Lian Li LANCOOL 205) so far, I've come around to start tinkering with it to get the best out of it. Recently I came across the Lian Li 205 Mesh version that seems to be a Microcenter exclusive and thought that the front panel would be very helpful in increasing airflow . However it looks as though Microcenter is only selling the glass panel while third party sites are selling the solid front panel.
Are there any plans or ways to purchase only the mesh front panel from the Lian Li 205 Mesh? I'm entirely unsure if it's viable for me to spend the full $100 amount just to grab the one piece I'll need.

Hello @Nion and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. Is the G436 having issues that you feel you need to adjust the airflow? Or is it more cosmetic in the interest in changing the front panel?
If you're wanting that front panel as of right now, best to go through Amazon or Newegg. I don't think you can get it directly from Lian li.
We sometimes get that panel, but we have no information for when we'll get it. Not everyone is looking for that type of panel, so it may not be viewed as a item for MC to stock based on sales and trends.

I actually was going to post a question for the same panel. I too would like to purchase this front panel. Whether it be new, or off an RMA unit i don't care at this point.

I did a bit of research on this and found that while we do carry the Lian Li side panels, we do not carry the front panel for this case.
I do see that one of our other administrators responded to this question before about swapping out the front panel, and I'd have to agree with him.
I have never actually tried to swap the front panels between the ATX 205 and 205 Mesh, I would need to check and see if their internal tooling on the front panel clips are identical. If they are, I wouldn't see why you couldn't simply swap the panels around. As to where to procure a front panel by themselves, that I have no idea of. I can say that if you are not feeling the ATX 205 chassis used in the G436, you are absolutely able to swap the internal components into another chassis without voiding the warranty (as long as nothing is damaged in the process). Just make sure you hold on to the original chassis as it may be needed to process any future warranty claims as all serial information is located on the original chassis.

Thanks, I have been eyeballing the Corsair 5000 series. I want a black one, then I want to spray the entire thing in "Musou Black" then do all the RGB.
Unless I can come across a cheap Lancool 205 mesh then I'll use that and just use the front panel instead lol

Understood. I was only asking because I saw other sites were selling the Lian Li 205 case part by part, including MC with its glass panel on its side. My interest in the mesh front panel was due to both cosmetics as well as airflow since my plans were to add more fans into the case to try to simulate a neutral airflow.
Unfortunately I also read on another forum from a Lian Li rep that the 205 Mesh was a Microcenter exclusive so any chance of me getting this outside of the MC marketplace is zero hence why I thought I'd shoot my shot with this question.

I can totally understand that. We do sell many of the individual Lian Li parts where possible.
I do see that the Lancool 205 Mesh is something that can be shipped for delivery to your home if that is something that you're interested in. You'd just need to change your store to "Shippable Items" at the top of the page.
My other suggestion would be to reach out to Lian Li directly. It's possible that you might be able to work something out with them on this part. It is an item that they list on their website.

I have the powerspec g464 and would have also preferred the mesh front panel, just for the looks :- )

I also have the 205 case and am looking in to cutting holes with a metal blade hole saw, cutting one big hole with a jigsaw with metal blade, or finding a metal fabrication shop that could cut a pattern of slots with a laser / plasme cutting tool. My 2nd thought thread is to find another mesh front panel that lines up with the 205 solid panel as a replacement.....

I've modded cases in the past to improve ventilation and found that speaker mesh works really well and is really cheap. You could also look into magnetic dust filters and cutting a groove for them to sit flush against the panel.
Sadly, our new ATX 205 Mesh front panel isn't compatible with the older ATX 205 design as they are shaped differently due to the top IO.

Well my PC is only 2 months old so I would think the panels are close to the same. Curious if another case mfg. panel could be made to work.....

I've thought about doing this same thing.
I have a Powerspec G706 with the Zotac RTX 2070 Super Mini graphics card, and when I'm doing any sort of gaming (my monitor is 1440p/165Hz, I cap the FPS at 144 or lower in some games), the fans on the card just rip the whole time, the glass side panel gets HOT to the touch, the air coming through the 240 rad at the top is HOT, and hwinfo shows the CPU running around 70C, GPU temps at 85-90C, and the GPU hotspot temps touch 101C.
I got a mobo and CPU replacement under Microcenter warranty, so I now have a Ryzen 5700X on a TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi. I'm thinking that may not have necessarily helped the heat situation in the 205 either, going up from a 3700X.
The repair people said the mobo/CPU issue was something on the board going bad and bricking the CPU with it, so not anything due to thermals.
I did notice that the new G-series Powerspecs use the 205 Mesh... I'm guessing thermals started becoming a consistent problem? I've looked into replacing my case, but I don't want to keep my old case in a closet for the rest of the warranty, and I really don't want to melt the GPU just outside of warranty.
