I have a roll of red "Silk" PLA from Microcenter and I am having a terrible time with it. It just will not adhere to the bed. Nothing but spaghetti mess. I have tried nozzle temps from 205 to 245 and bed temps from 45 to 55. There is a gorgeous vase printed from the same stuff at the local MC's BYOPC counter so I know it can work, but the person who printed it is never in when I go by to ask. Anyone have any success with silk PLA care to share their secrets??

I have an Ender 5 Pro with the glass bed. Normal PLA prints just fine; only silk is giving me a problem. Yes I check the leveling, etc, between each print. Also I've tried with and without glue stick.

Greetings, looking at the specs we have, the Silk PLA settings are as follows:

    Print Temp 190C-220C

    Bed Temp 20-60C

    Printing Speed 40-60mm/s

    Retraction 1-3mm

I would verify/test these settings out to see if that helps.

I finally came upon the tip of using extreme strength hair spray on the glass bed for an adherent instead of just glue stick. This has worked. Anything less and silk won't stick to the bed for me. Hope this helps anyone else with that stuff.

This is NOT working for me with the recent rolls of filament.

It feels like the formulation for the Silk PLA has changed.

I have successfully printed something on the order of 6 to 8 rolls of Silk PLA with no problem.

Getting ready to try the glue sticks.

    Any other ideas out there?

The Roll says Bed 25 to 60C, Nozzle 190 to 220C. This doesn't work worth anything. It won't stick to the bed. Someone else on a different forum stated 75C bed and nozzle at 235, and this is working great for me. He suggested slowing down to 60mm, but next print I'm going to have the 1st couple layers at 60, then bump the rest up to 90mm
