Video Editing Custom Build Request
Hello All,
I'm looking to purchase a PC for video editing (Premiere and After Effects) and was hoping I could receive suggestions on what to get. I am based out of Dallas, TX and have done basic research on what the market suggests. Reddit /PCMasterRace suggested Pudget Systems pre built that is roughly $4,200 (https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Adobe-After-Effects-144/Buy_166) but I wanted to see if that is a realistic price point or alternative suggestions. I have also looked at PC Part Picker as well but not quite sure what would be a solid choice to purchase. Thank you for your time.

I strongly suggest you go through Microcenter's build-a-pc configurator before spending 4,200 for those parts from Puget. It looks like a decent mix of parts but the price might not be the best you can do. Do you live near a Microcenter? Go talk to someone in the build your own section. (you don't have to build it yourself if you don't want to, they can)

Hi Ian, my hope is a $2,000-2,500 ballpark range for budget, it can flux based on needed specs. I'm looking to purchase a PC that can be reliable in regards using premiere/after effects - thank you
Hi Magarity, I completely agree, I found that pre built to be expensive/overpowering for what I'm looking to do. I do in fact live near the Dallas location, so I suppose based on your suggestion going in person to the build section might be the best play. - thanks

The video card was selected because it was showing in stock, that can be changed. After Effects for example recommends a card with at least 4GB of video memory. I also picked a 4TB 3.5" drive for storage and that can be reduced/increased as well as needed.

Also, research the requirements for the video editing software you intend to use. Some prefer a fast CPU and some prefer a GPU with a lot of vram. Don't assume.
