Played the Alpha for a couple weeks, wasn't a fan, don't plan on revisiting. Combat felt dated despite it being a new MMO and while I loved the crafting system, the constant invisible walls (fence posts in town that you couldn't walk through despite your character clearly being able to fit through them) and lack of character customization made the world feel very limited.
Will say, even in the alpha, was definitely a pretty game. Hopefully others have a better time than I did.

Jokes aside, the combat system imo is simple, yet fun. But I don't believe anything compares to Black Desert Online's combat system right now.
New World sort of reminds me of an incredibly polished Valheim without the house building and sailing (at this time).

Probably a no for me on New World. Don't see myself returning to another MMORPG personally.

Played Alpha and it ran beautifully, something was changed in the beta in the coding and has remained an issue in the main release. I get hard software crashes and occasional hardware resets ever since the Beta-Full release. I did play for a bit during Full release until the issues started happening again, so I will be waiting until they iron out alot of the code issues that still remain. In all I loved the crafting system and the combat system wasn't a deal breaker for me when it comes down to it.

Played in the Open beta, it was terrible I don't see this game surviving. Story and combat was bland, pvp was horrid, unless you use range weapons. Community was worse than League of Legends on toxicity.

Oh I can definitely see the behavior spanning from server to server. In the Elphame server, we've summed the factions as:
Syndicate: The Immature Toxic No-Lifers
Marauders: The No-Lifers
Covenant: The Mature, Eventually will get to Level 60, Casual Gamers.
