G470 Fan control
Hello,
I'm curious about why the fans seem to be so reactive and jump up and down in intensity so often and dramatically. I've worked with a b742 and didn't experience such issues before (even after adding a 1660 ti). Is there a way I can change my fan settings or should I use a 3rd party software like MSI afterburner? I'm using the computer in a studio environment and want to create a fan profile which keeps the machine as quiet as possible. Any tips?

Greetings. Which fans are you referring to exactly? Case fans / video card, etc.?

I had some time to test the pc this weekend and the fans are causing something to rattle on the inside. I believe the graphics card's fans are contributing to the internal vibrations and the case fans are the ones that are overly reactive and jumping up and down in intensity. Frankly I'm no expert so I'm not sure... Are the graphics card fans and case fans controlled by different settings? Is there anything I can do to mitigate the vibrations?

The GPU fan speed is controlled by the GPU. The GPU manufacturer generally provides software that can tweak the fan curves.
The case fans are controlled through a fan hub, via the motherboard. There is a sub menu in the BIOS called Q-Fan control where you can modify the fan curves. However this vibration sound isn't normal. Either a fan is loose or defective, in which case we'll certainly take care of that. Are you able to determine which fan specifically is making a most noise? I assume with the vibrations, it's alleviated when you put pressure on a certain part of the chassis or a fan itself?

Hey,
The vibration is dampened most when I press my hand against the right side of the case (sharing the wall with the motherboard).

I would reseat that panel. It slots in on the front, and it's secured at the rear with two thumbscrews. It may just not be seated entirely and that's causing the rattle or vibration sound.
