New Build, Bios freezes or blue screens when attempting to boot to windows on a usb

I just finished building this rig. It’s got an Asus Prime B660m-a d4 motherboard. I’ve confirmed that Windows installed on the usb boots to the setup
menu on one of my other machines. For the problem one, I put the usb into a back USB port and set the boot priority to the usb. What happened is the bios freezes with the Asus logo or I get a blank blue screen or I get a screen with peach,purple and red horizontal lines stuck. The peach screen I get if I disable CSM( compatibility support module) . If I enable it and set the options to either legacy or uefi I get the blue screen or frozen asus logo. At this point I’m not sure if it’s still a bios issue or an issue with the actual mobo. Please help

That is a strange issue. This only happens when attempting to boot from the USB and not at all during the BIOS and adjusting settings? Have you tried different ports on the motherboard or even through the case?

Hi Phillip - yes it only happens when trying to boot to usb. The bios menu is smooth and everything functions optimally. I’ve tried different ports on the back of the case as well as the front

Sounds like corrupt installation media. If this was a flash drive you purchased, recreate the media online here: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Hey guys - thanks for your Help. I was able to get on the phone with a MicroCenter tech and he advised me to take out a ram chip then try. Lo and behold, I was able to boot to win setup and install windows! I don’t know for sure if this was an issue with the ram stick I pulled out but I’m going to MicroCenter to replace them both. Thanks again!
