I have a bookmark to Microcenter - Shippable Items. However, when I use that bookmark, it always redirects me to a poorly chosen store. In fact the store is further away than the nearest three stores. It seems to be picking the location based upon the location of the ISP's corporate headquarters. See the screenshot below, noting the store-id in the URL and the list of available stores. It's a really poor selection algorithm. It really should recognize the store-id in the URL.
Hello, do you happen to have a VPN or possible add-on to your browser that may have those kind of features installed?
Hi! No VPN. The only add-on for Firefox is uBlock-Origin. However, I can go to a fully up-to-date Windows 10 environment and run Microsoft Edge (with no extensions) and get the same result. Thanks for following up.
Interesting, I made a bookmark myself of https://www.microcenter.com/?storeid=029 and tried multiple browsers and it remembered each time and would override any store I had picked prior. If you switch the store manually and then click the bookmark does it remember the store setting?
Once you have a 'microcenter.com' cookie established, yes, the bookmark or page header store selection sticks. The initial cookie creation, then, should honor the values in the URL. Maybe you have a browser instance with a cleared history and cache that you can test this from, thanks.
Hello, I have shared this feedback directly to our website team so they may review this and investigate this further.
