USB PCIe Host Card does not work on new setup
Hello Everyone
I have upgraded my PC CPU and motherboard from i7-11700f &TUF B560M to i7-12700k & Z690M Plus D4.
I have a Vantec 5-port USB 3.2 Gen2x2(20Gbps) with 2C and 3A PCIe Host Card moved from my old to the new setup. And this card does not work on the new setup.
I put this card in the second PCIe x16 slot both the old and new setup. And I tried to connect different power cables and switch to PCIe slot 1 (slot 1 is for GPU, so slot 1 is 100% working).
I am able to see this hub card in BIOS but now Windows OS. (In OS, it has an error code 45).
Vender says there may be a BIOS configuration and new firmware need to flash to the card.
In BIOS, I can only change the PCIe speed to Gen 2/3/4, and I do not have the old setup anymore.
Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this problem?

Card is PCIe Gen 3 x2. Is the hub greyed out in device manager? What is it listed as?

@PowerSpec_MikeW Thank you for reply. I am not able to see the card in OS device manager unless I select 'Show Hidden Device' by click View and check it.

That's to be expected. Code 45 just means it's not plugged in anymore. In device manager, does it tell you what the controller is? ASMeda for example? Do you have the SATA Power cable connected to the card at the rear?
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW Yes, the controller is ASMeda for that card. And I do have the SATA power cable connected at the rear. Also tried to change another SATA cable to make sure it is not the power cable problem. (The cable was connected and powered HDD and SSD. I unplug that cable and connected it to the card.) I also tried switching to PCIe slot #1 (This slot was used for GPU & 100% working), but still not working.

In Device Manger, under Software Devices, what you do you have?

Thank you for being so helpful. In the end, the company just sent out a replacement for this card. And the new card works fine. They mention many times firmware updates. So I guess this is something that must be done with Gen 3 PCIe before moving to newer Gen hardware.

Glad you got it working. I've seen some strange issues with the older ASMedia USB controllers. It'll show an item under "Software Devices" that you have to remove to be able to detect it again.
