inland SSD Enclosure not recognized by windows
I recently bought a 1tb inland M.2 SSD and a inland Type C M.2 SSD enclosure and i plugged it into my MOBO and the enclosure lit up but windows isn't showing it anywhere i even checked device manager and disk management and it just is not recognizing the drive should i maybe try getting a USB 3.0 Enclosure?

Looking at your purchase history, the drive enclosure you are using is USB 3.1 which is backwards compatible with standard USB 3.0 ports. I also see a 1TB Inland NVMe Gen4 SSD which should be compatible with this enclosure. A few questions:
- Are you plugging directly into the Type-C port on your motherboard, or are you using an adapter (Type-C to Type-A)?
- Are other Type-C devices working in the same USB port?
- Do you have a spare NVMe slot on the motherboard itself that you can use to confirm the drive is working?
Ideally, we need a way to dial in on exactly which piece is not working. To do that, we need to rule out the enclosure or the drive.

Directly into the type-c port on the motherboard and the enclosure lights up but my computer isn’t detecting it for some reason

This means that the enclosure itself is getting power, however the drive within the enclosure is either defective, or the NVMe slot on the enclosure is not detecting the drive.
Does your motherboard have a spare M.2 slot you can test with? I know it's inconvenient, but it can help rule out which product is defective.

I only have one M.2 port on my pc and my windows install is on the M.2 drive that is in that port

Do you have any spare devices with a Type-C port available to rule out the Type-C port on your motherboard?

I tried it on my steamdeck on the Linux side of it and I couldn’t get it to show up under devices that’s really the only other device I have that has a USB-C port that’s capable of data transfer the only removable device it would show was my microSDcard that’s in my steamdeck

Any resolution to this? I have the same problem. I have used two different USB-C NVMe drive enclosures that work with Samsung, SK Hynix and Solidigm, but not Inland on Windows --the Inland NVMe only appears on macOS and Linux. Windows 11 Disk Management is unable to see the drive, but Windows 11 can see both enclosures. I have used gparted to wipe the partitions and table from the drive and plugged it in to Windows with no luck.

I have the same issue but I am not seeing any resolution to this issue here or anywhere else. Its an Inland 994 which I have tried on two separate drives on two different computers, directly plugged into USB slot and using a USB A to C adapter (made for power and data transfer).
