Need Help with PC Troubleshooting
I'm helping fix a friend's PC but am having trouble figuring out a particular problem. The PC will not start whenever the SATA cables (Corsair) are connected to the 750W PSU (Seasonic). I've tried basically everything: connecting everything but the SSD cable (PC boots) and even using the same SSD on my own rig and the SSD work fine and files are all still intact.
Is it possible that Corsair SATA cables can stop a PC from booting up when connecting to a Seasonic PSU? And if so what cables can I replace them with?

Yes it is. Modular PSU pinouts are not standardized. You should of been able to hear a click from the PSU when you tried to turn it on, it's shorting.

I ordered the corresponding cables to the Seasonic PSU, but am now worried that the motherboard might already be fried or any other potential issues....
The CPU and GPU fans still work without the SSD plugged into the PSU so I'm really hoping everything is still okay

It's probably fine, if it's shorting like that it'll power off as soon as you try to power it on. A cheaper PSU might damage something, but it's more likely to be a 5V device like a drive, rather than your board.
