CPU upgrade recommendation

I have an old PC (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g48jwg) which is finally starting to slow down after over 6 years of use. I am assuming the CPU is the main culprit and am looking to upgrade. I have the following questions:

  1. Is it sufficient to upgrade the CPU or should I look into replacing the motherboard and/or graphics card as well?
  2. What are some decent choices for a new CPU that are compatible with my current setup?

Obviously this computer is not exactly top of the line and I am not looking to do anything crazy with it. I would just like it to have the same capabilities as when it was brand new, as now even running simple apps or basic browsing is slow. Thank you in advance for any help!
