Bent the pins on the 3700 like an idiot
I put too much thermal paste and wanted to check if it was ok. While trying to remove the wraith prism color over it made it pop out of the slot. The pins are bent, but not broken. Would Micro Center or any place for that matter, entertain trying to bend them back in place, or would they recommend me getting a new one? I know it's possible to do it myself, but with my track record as of late, I feel a bit dubious at the prospect.

Update: Continuing this thread, I am manually realigning the pins. It's a pain, but so far it's working. Don't doubt yourselves ya'll, being a bit stubborn and taking breaks in between is key. I will update this after a bit more realigning, and a test run. If all goes well, I may be out of this mess.

Update 2: Did not work. You live and learn, and before you ask if I'm beating myself up over it: I am. Fortunately, the old CPU and all my internals are ok after the slot in of the 3700. At least the performance of my PC has increased marginally thanks to the new fan and PSU, so some things worked out. Guess I have to save up and splurge for a new 3700 next time. And no, I won't be making the same mistake next time, definitely learned.

Sorry, I did not see your post. Let me know if you haven't replaced the CPU yet.
