Rescue dead HDD?

Just recently had a 2tb HDD die on me (infamous click click click of death). It's not a big deal as I was using it for back-up, but is there any way I can bring it back to life or is it dead for good?

For clicking drives, there's nothing you can do unfortunately. If the circuit board inside the drive is bad, I believe it can be replaced if you have an exact replacement (and you know what you're doing) but for clicking drives as far as I'm aware they're just toast.

I thought as much. First HDD I ever had that died on me. A little surprising too because I have a 1tb that's still kicking around that's older than the 2tb by a good couple of years. Go figure.
