Memory is Maxing Out on New Build- Why ?

Well I think I fixed it..
I figured it had to be something running in the back ground , SW or Driver
so i opened Task Mgr / Services / open services
and i looked through things that i figured i really didnt need In Running Status
I set the following to Manual / Stopped
Acronis Nonstop Backup Service - I dont need nonstop backup service / I have backups scheduled - thats a separate process
Adobe Acrobat Update Service - I dont need this running / I can update Adobe as needed / Manual
Apple Mobile Device Service / itunes / I can start this as needed / Manual
Logitech Video Camera Service / I rarely ever use my camera / I can start this as needed / Manual
Samsung Magician SVC / It can start this as needed / Manual
Re-booted and the Memory Usage with the following open :
Outlook
2 excel
Word
4 FF
System Mechanic
has been steady at abt 6.5gb for the past several hrs -
So one of those 5 process or a combination was using up memory non stop
I would lean to Acronis / Adobe and Samsung
i just defrag memory and its holding steady at abt 4.0 gb
I'll see what happens over the next few days - if this holds

A backup software using excess memory could be possible. I've seen old versions of WD Smartware do this, it's most likely a memory leak that we're going to need to catch. When the usage was at 29GB, what was using all that RAM in processes?

When the usage was at 29GB, what was using all that RAM in processes? -- i didnt snip it
but i havent open anything since abt 1am last night except that I have had outlook and task mgr running since 1am
just now launched FF to write this message
and the memory level in task mgr has been steady at abt 4.5gb
im leaning that this was probably the issue:: Acronis Nonstop Backup Service
I also read the Adobe Acrobat Update Service could be using memory non stop
i set those 5 services abv to manual and stopped them and now memory isnt peaking or max'ing out
my Acronis backups processed last night just fine and Im sure the memory usage went up during that period of time and then did return to normal
so maybe the memory leak was mainly Acronis
i suppose to i could reset Acronis Nonstop Backup Service to Automatic / Running and then see if the memory usage peaks

Up to you whether you want to confirm, if disabling those services is not effecting your backups. Sounds like you had a scheduled backup and this service was more of a real-time backup feature. Let me know if the issue returns.

ya im thinking the Acronis Nonstop Backup Service was running in the background and utilizing memory 'non-stop'
I dont have a non-stop backup created, I'm thinking that is a automatic setting
i doing a few things right with excel and word and have a few FF web sites opens and memory usage is still in the 4.5 gb range
ans im noticing faster response - as i think should be normal response with this new build
i'll be monitoring and will let you know yes if it returns
i'll be streaming stocks ( market is closed today ) and crypto's tomorrow at the same time - that will be a good test ...
i opened Coinbase - and memory usage really hasnt increased much 4.8 / CPU 3% - therefore I'm leaning that everything is now working fine

You sure are using quite a bit of PCie lanes. Some boards cut the lanes to the slots as you add more hardare, I.E. using 2 M.2 SSDs can result in the GPU slot getting cut from X16 lanes to X8 with the second M.2 getting cut to X2. That is an example how PCIe config can be changed by the board virtually in stealth. Maybe why your having vid issues. That might be causing the system to allocate system RAM to compensate for GPU VRAM bandwidth shortages due to PCIe issues. GL
