  • Hello, I updated the B850 GAMING WIFI6 bios to version F7, but I didn't write down the stock bios settings. Besides changing it back to XMP 1, was there anything else of importance in the bios that I need to adjust? Thank you.

I'm testing F7 internally with modified stock fan curves. Should be ready next week.

  • Powerspec G913 Request for an updated BIOS (second individual requesting)

Also, why are our prebuilts NOT coming with the MSI EZ m.2 clip II remover tool ?

You cannot install, move, or replace that specialized m.2 standoff without that tool, and MSI does not sell it. The only other alternative, is risking using a deepwell socket - with the associated high risk of shorting a nearby component on the MB.

We're working on 2A93 right now. Should be ready next week.

We install the extra mounting hardware. We can mail out the remover tool if you would like it.

  • Request a listing of most current drivers for G913, since PowerSpec is using a custom BIOS flash.

Currently, is a Jul 25 bios (7E59AM70.2A02), and noticed the bios was configured with, which appears closest to the MSI 7E59v2A82

but MSI released three bios updates in the course of two weeks in July

    Description:

    - Improve memory compatibility.

    - Optimized Secure Erase mechanism.

    AMI BIOS: 7E59v2A90 (13.00 MB)

    Date:  2025-09-05

Current BIOS is based on 2A82. The BIOS we're working, 2A93, is not available yet from MSI. Driver versions are going to be difficult with the way we push individual drivers in a chipset package. You can update the drivers, if our updates supersede what you have, it'll update automatically.

  • Yes - please send the tool. I will end-up using it. With SSD prices continuing to climb, it won't be long before people are looking to the 60mm and 110mm SSDs for alternatives (2260 / 22110).

Got lucky and snagged a 4TB P990 Pro for $318 on Amazon (price is now over $400 thru Amazon resale). Got it Tues evening; installed Christmas day. Checked packaging, contents, drive against known fake 990 Pro articles, and matching serial number against the box - ran virus scan, then Defender offline scan. Downloaded Samsung Magician. Not knowing what info I'd get out of their program, I first ran it on the 2TB system drive. Takes 35 min. for an Extended SMART scan, that verifies if the SSD is an authentic Samsung drive, type and size, serial number, firmware, etc. Then ran the Amazon SSD thru Magician, which verified the driver was an authentic 990 Pro 4TB, identified and updated the firmware (Vietnam manufactured drive; Production date 2025-09-19).

    Here are the results:

    Samsung P990 2TB SSD drive scan.JPG

Considering I had more than 30 min. in the virus scan and Defender Offline scans, then another 35 min. for each Magician scan, this SSD didn't have 30 minutes Power-on time on it, when I received it. Wish I had order four more !

Why are 16GB (or even 8GB) USB drives no longer available to buy in-store or order via the MC cart ?

Currently the smallest in-store or online is 32GB - but that's way more than is needed to create a bootable USB recovery drive, a download flash-bios file, a USB with all the current (and past) drivers for a motherboard, or the installation files needed for other programs when you do a fresh install. In most cases, even an 8GB flashdrive is overkill.

They're obviously still being made (for MC), as evidenced by what I bought online via Amazon. Why not make these available for order online, for in-store pickup?

Why let Amazon make money MC could be making, by instead using an "order online for (later) in-store pickup" option like that other major retailer does ?

The customer orders the item. That item is placed on the next truck to that store. When the item arrives and added to that store's inventory, an automated email is sent to the customer that their item is ready for pickup.

    I couldn't answer that question, but here's 2A03 based on 2A93.

  • @PowerSpec_MikeW can I also get a remover tool from you?  We got a g913 just prior to Xmas and was wondering why the tool was not included in the bag of spare parts. Haven’t been able to make it by the Denver store to ask about it.

I'll see if I can get a bag from the production line. We'll be including them going foward.

@PowerSpec_MikeW I also recently got a PowerSpec G913. Can you also send me a remover tool? Would really appreciate it

Also, thanks for the updated BIOS update! No major issues at the moment, so will wait some time before installing the new BIOS update as I am still getting other things set up.

  • @PowerSpec_MikeW any updates on B850 GAMING WIFI6 bios version F7 for the G757?

@PowerSpec_MikeW - Can I get the removal tool by chance? Just picked up a PowerSpec G913. Love it so far. Also, I’m missing a case screw, the one that holds the glass to the actual case. Can I get that as well?

Mine was an open box so I didn’t get anything except the tower, so if there is an extra spare parts kit (like mentioned above) I’ll take that as well if you have it. If not no big deal, just need the screw and the removal tool.

    Thanks very much. Happy Holidays!

I sent you an email just now.

  • Hello @PowerSpec_MikeW. Just picked up a G757 from my local store, absolutely love it so far but have question regarding xmp vs expo. The system is currently set running XMP1 as this is how it was out of the box. Does this make sense for an AMD system? Or is there any benefit to switching the EXPO profile? Apologies for the ignorance, just looking to learn more about my setup. Thanks!

  • @PowerSpec_MikeW

Bought a G913 recently (it's been amazing) and updated the BIOS to the latest MSI profile, 2A91. It's my first PowerSpec, and I didn't realize y'all release updates. I want to revert to the PowerSpec BIOS builds with your 2A03, but m-flash isn't recognizing the new file. Help, please? Thanks!

It really doesn't matter. XMP is more closed, EXPO for AMD is more open, but they do the same thing. Tell the board the primary and VDIMM voltage. Everything else is up to the board. The other voltages rails like VDDP, all the secondary and tertiary timings are trained according to the boards training algorithm. XMP/EXPO has nothing to do with that part of the training process.

    @Rhyno

I'll post a new BIOS based on 2A93 on powerspec.com today. I linked it above for stormchaser.

    BIOS is up.

  • G911 here, purchased in August. My BIOS is from July. Anything newer? This week I've had two in game crashes in Digital Combat Simulator which has been perfect since install (and with all updates) and this morning the system just locked up after boot. I'm going to revert the latest NVidia driver (5080) that was installed this week, but I'm looking for ideas.

Are there tools I can use to scan hardware? The MSI tool for the MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard doesn't really have anything to do a thorough scan of hardware…

Posted a BIOS based on 2A93 for the G913/914 which is compatible with the G911 as well. Memtestx86 and OCCT are the main diagnostic tools I use. When you say it locked up on startup, which screen was it on?

  • It booted to my desktop, I left it for about ten minutes, and the system was on but the screen was black. I've rebooted and am watching again. So far at 30 minutes it's been stable. Might have just been a fluke.

Regarding the BIOS, are there any significant changes that make it a must have? I'd rather isolate what is going on first as the system has been rock solid since August until this week. Like I said, I suspect the graphics driver. Not entirely sure how to roll back as the Device Manager setting for the 5080 driver is grayed out…

You can roll back by downloading an older NVIDIA driver, using DDU to remove the current one (there's instructions everywhere - check Reddit), and then installing the one you just downloaded one. I've done this recently.

My G752 has intermittent issues. Sometimes it goes days without crashing, sometimes it's hours. No rhyme or reason. I've tried DDU, Repair Install Windows, everything I can think of. It's intermittent, so I am pretty sure it's a driver issue somewhere, but no idea. Latest thing was using regedit to set the TdrDelay to 15 seconds. Computer seems fine now, but it's only got 5 days of uptime.

AGESA firmware update, I wouldn't touch it unless there are specific issues that are known to be fixed with the updated firmware. DDU as DraKhen99 suggested and a clean install are the way to go.
