Poor performance in open-world games: figuring out what i should be focusing on for upgrades.

Upgraded to a 3060ti a while ago without upgrading anything else, fear that some components may be lagging behind. I've noticed that performance is especially poor when faced with any large, open world game, such as fortnite and elden ring. Fortnite struggles to maintain 90+ fps on all minimum settings for BR modes (others with a 3060ti seem to hit a few hundred fps), elden ring struggles to maintain 60 fps on all minimum settings. Either game performs far better whenever the loaded world is smaller. Is this performance expected on the 3060ti, should i upgrade other components, or could this be a software-related issue?
